There is a unique neighborhood in the borough of Gettysburg. It is home to witness houses - homes that still bare the scars of the Civil War. But this community holds more history than the gun shots and cannon balls reflect. And it has great future potential as one of the Commonwealth's Elm Street Communities. Working with current residents and the representatives of the Pennsylvania Interfaith Community Programs, we developed a plan to increase home ownership, enhance safety and community appearance, and continue the tradition of diversity in Gettysburg's neighborhoods.
