Lititz Watch Technicum
Lititz, Pennsylvania
The architecture and site design at the Lititz Watch
Technicum are strongly influenced by the historic rural character
of the area, but with a modern flavor. The architectural design motif
of twin barns was designed and developed in collaboration with Michael
Graves Architects. Together, the site and the architecture are married
by the use of the stone, not only on the building, but also carried
throughout the site by the series of stone retaining walls. Design
and functionality merge as underground storm water detention is incorporated
with a system of water features. The site will introduce a stone
waterfall, a large pond with colorful plantings encompassing its
perimeter, and a series of fountains and pools bounding a dining
terrace. Surrounded by a lush perennial garden and the rustic stone
walls, the site displays a comfortable and inviting atmosphere rarely
seen in a corporate facility. |
