The red carpet. The lights. The photo backdrop. During this time of year, whether it’s the Grammies, the Golden Globes, or the Oscars, the arrival experience is on center stage.
And it’s no different on your campus. Over the winter months, we’ve been occupied with many campus entry projects, working to maximize the impact of the arrival experience.
Maybe now would be a good time to reevaluate your campus red carpet, the lights, and the photo backdrop. Is your arrival experience making the impact you desire?
Consider where your arrival experience starts. At the campus edge, in the parking lot, or once you get into the admissions office? Where should it start?
In the midst of winter, this might be a good time to evaluate. The spotlight may not be on your campus now ~ for the most part, established students have the run of campus. But soon, the flow of admitted student and prospective student visits will start. First as a trickle and then as a wave.
Will your campus be ready to greet them when they come? How will you roll out the red carpet?
