Carlisle Community Park
Never underestimate the power of a neighborhood. When we first completed their Elm Street plan in 2005, the residents of Carlisle’s west side neighborhoods thought about the Heberlig-Palmer Tot Lot as a liability. It continued to be that way until a small group of dedicated residents in the neighborhood envisioned a grander purpose for this hidden away green space. This summer, we worked with the neighbors to brainstorm their ideas for a revitalized park in their community. The Carlisle Community Park plans include a walking trail, edible landscaping, natural play-scapes, and green infrastructure.
