Parker University Campus Enhancement Plan ®
Parker University wanted to create a blueprint for the development of their campus to help guide its future growth in a methodical and intentional way. As the institution was evolving into a University with expanded academic offerings and a growing enrollment, the administration realized the campus itself would play an ever important role in its future. Just as intentional planning had gone into setting the direction for the institution, it was time for the same level of planning to address the physical campus.
The Parker Campus Enhancement Plan was developed specifically to address the needs of the institution and focused on two main areas:
- addressing visitor first impressions and needed enhancements that would improve the campus experience for drivers and pedestrians
- a longer term growth plan focused on acquisitions, ideas, and thoughts on how to positively affect the surrounding neighborhood and streetscape, and addressing future building needs
The completed CEP combined the near-term and long-term planning concepts into a single document that outlined specific projects and provided the planning background and vision needed for the campus decision makers. A key part of the CEP was development and use of multiple graphic modes, hand sketching, Sketch Up 3-D modeling, and plan graphics to provide the University with the visual tools necessary to share the vision and raise the funds necessary to achieve it.
