Philadelphia University Baseball
Motivated by donor interest, Philadelphia University asked Derck & Edson to design enhancement options for their existing baseball field.
The recommended enhancements include: a new entrance gateway, grandstands integrated into the topography, a new structure for concessions and restrooms, new dugouts, and a reorganized parking lot. Each enhancement also extends the Philadelphia University brand into this part of campus and throughout the envisioned facility.
Recommended improvements also considered the existing field’s location on an environmentally sensitive site at the edge of campus which borders Fairmount Park and is part of the Wissahickon Creek area, a protected watershed.
The design enhancements were showcased in a 3D model which captures how the existing site could be transformed into a top-notch competition venue.
