UIU Liberal Arts Building
With the need for additional academic space, the placement of a new liberal arts building on the central campus oval was critical. Respecting the existing open space, while at the same time reflecting the campus architectural vernacular, was key in creating their first building to be constructed as a result of the master plan.
The new 2-story construction is a 34,081 square foot building comprised of an office block and a classroom block connected by a two-story open link. The facility uses large amounts of glass to daylight the interior portions of the building and provides expansive views to the Alexander-Dickman Oval Lawn, the heart of the UIU Fayette Campus.
The University is pursuing LEED Silver Certification for New Construction from United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for this project.
