Warwick High School Alumni Plaza
As a class gift, a group of alumni wanted to create a plaza to honor all alumni of Warwick High School. The design took the shape of a circular plaza that builds on shapes already found in front of the high school. The new plaza was designed to be at a grade similar to the existing curb elevation and surrounded by low walls. In the center is a metal sculptural element in the shape of a large “W.”
The plaza serves as the starting point for the Alumni Walk, which was designed as a serpentine bituminous walk along the edges of the lawn. In the future, the plan calls for the edges of the lawn to be planted with more trees (shade and ornamental) to give the front lawn of the school an even more park-like feel.
