York College Residence Hall Study
An extension of the recently completed Campus Enhancement and Land Use Plan, Derck & Edson completed a Residence Hall Master Plan for the College as well. The intent of the study was to create a phased, prioritized approach to renovating the College’s residence hall offerings, helping the College to create a strategic approach to improving both the freshmen and upperclassmen housing experience. Derck & Edson worked with the College to identify the residence halls most in need of renovation and also where new housing might be built. The plan included studying multiple phasing scenarios to determine the best fit for bed count, type of bed, and financial investment for the College. The result of this work – a prioritized list of renovation and building projects that addresses the College’s need to improve freshmen housing while offering improved and new upperclassmen housing.
