up on the roof
The Drifters, James Taylor, even American Idol contestants have serenaded us with the lyrics to Up on the Roof written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. In the 1960’s, they were concerned with their cares drifting into space. Today, up on the Linden Hall green roof in Lititz, stormwater is what drifts, if not to space, at least to the atmosphere where it gets hung up, condenses (in clouds), and then eventually falls back to earth, all as part of the hydrologic cycle. Perhaps with more green roof installations like this one, our air (and our water!) will be fresh and sweet once again.
