well, well, well(ness)

We are pleased to join Cecil College and Marshall Craft Associates in celebrating the 2013 Innovative Architecture and Design Award for the Cecil College Physical Education Complex on their North East, MD campus.

With nearly 30’ of vertical elevation to navigate across the project site, the additions to the building and integrated landscape and plaza spaces sought to employ that elevation in beneficial ways to enhance views (both in to and out of the building), create unique gathering spaces, and improve pedestrian circulation to parking areas.

Landscape enhancements around the building manage storm water runoff with Maryland Department of Environment approved Environmentally Sensitive Designs (ESD). The use of native vegetation provides unique outdoor areas for environmental study directly adjacent to the renovated tennis facility, soccer field, and fitness track, fully integrating educational goals and objectives with health and wellness for the college.
