Florida College Activity Zone

Derck & Edson worked with Florida College to design a flexible, multi-function, student-focused space in the heart of campus. The Activity Zone now hosts a wide variety of events, including performances, graduations, banquets and outdoor dining, and movie nights as well as pick-up games of basketball and volleyball.
Highlights of the space include:

• Shade structures over basketball courts and gathering spaces
• Turf volleyball courts
• Swing-zebo – large swings shaded by a gazebo-style structure
• Individual swings along a campus garden path
• Lecture seating for 332
• Banquet seating for 224
• A stage with seating and movie screen location

The completed Activity Zone is a welcoming and inclusive area that attracts Florida College students and colleagues for a wide variety of outdoor activities.
