Boyertown Vision and Action Plan
Building a Better Boyertown (BBB), Boyertown’s Main Street organization retained a multidisciplinary professional planning team to prepare a community visioning and action plan for downtown Boyertown. This plan was developed to provide a roadmap and guiding vision as well as offering specific implementation recommendations for improving downtown Boyertown and strengthening the local economy.
Plan recommendations included business recruitment strategies, destination marketing, public space design, downtown development plans, as well as suggestions for creation of a revolving loan fund to encourage new restaurants and a new plaza surrounding the tourism-oriented Colebrookdale Railroad. As a result of this plan, BBB has since secured $1 million in grant funds, $500,000 in matching grants, and a $300,000 fund to promote restaurants in the downtown.
