Bridgewater College Eagle’s Nest
The Eagle’s Nest at Bridgewater College is an existing sunken courtyard which was also targeted for renovation as a part of the 2012 master plan. Several major challenges made this project a particularly intricate puzzle to solve: significant grade change to the sunken courtyard and major underground utilities that impacted proposed physical features.
Through creative and thoughtful design and complex detailing, our team worked to develop a design which will enhance the Eagle’s Nest as a prominent destination on campus. The new courtyard design features fully accessible, terraced plazas with raised planters, attractive cable guard rails, outdoor lighting, movable furniture, and portable fire tables.
