Rivier University Dion Center Interior Renovations
The Dion Center is Rivier University’s student center and home of campus dining, the bookstore, and various meeting rooms and offices. The building is organized around a two-story central construction that was in need of interior renovation. Derck & Edson helped Rivier visualize a more open space by removing the unused campus mail center and one of the stairways that occupied much of the first-floor space. Additionally, practical matters such as upgraded second-floor guardrails and expanded, accessible restrooms were addressed.
The result is a space that invites the campus community to spend time in study, informal meetings, or just relaxing on comfortable new furnishings in an upgraded and updated atmosphere which has also become a popular small event venue in the heart of Rivier’s campus.
