Endicott College Wayfinding
Stemming from Endicott College’s Campus Enhancement Plan®, the College further engaged Derck & Edson to enhance campus wayfinding. Two main issues needed to be addressed as part of this project:
1. Campus Wide Wayfinding (Exterior)
A campus wide signage system needed to be created to address existing deficiencies for directing visitors to key campus facilities, as well as planning for proposed future facilities. The College wanted to develop and implement a family of exterior wayfinding signage throughout campus with consistent style, colors, materials, fonts, and branding – all scaled appropriately depending on the location and application.
2. Hale Street Campus Edge Signage
Hale Street is the roadway utilized by vehicles traveling to Endicott College. At the time, no signage marked the edges of campus along Hale Street or identified arrival points to campus. The College wanted to examine the feasibility of constructing signage/markers with branding on both the eastern and western edges of campus along Hale Street to help motorists confirm they have arrived at campus. Such signage will also strengthen the identity of the College along the Hale Street corridor and help build up the sense of arrival to the main gateway at the core campus.
The implementation of the overall wayfinding system will be phased and our services will include design drawings for the various signage types, topographic survey, as needed, and bid administration and construction observation.
