Franklin & Marshall College Athletics Master Plan
Moving and consolidating their athletic facilities to the north end of campus is part of Franklin & Marshall’s large scale master plan to develop a former industrial site on the North Side of Harrisburg Avenue and at the same time re-focus the academic and residential campus core.
The Alumni Sports and Fitness Complex (ASFC), also a Derck & Edson project, represented the College’s first significant expansion across Harrisburg Avenue. This expansion has since grown to a 90-acre/$80 million plan for redevelopment.
Brooks Tennis Center, which opened in 2007, is a fully lighted complex, centered by Epps Pavilion. A subsequent phase 2 includes a lighted synthetic turf multi-purpose field serving lacrosse, soccer, and field hockey. Entrance plazas were conceived to provide distinctive donor recognition and a gateway to their respective venues.
