Hazleton GIS
Geo-spatial information played a critical role in developing the strategic plan to revitalize Downtown Hazleton. Tax parcel and property assessment data from Luzerne County was overlaid with field data collected by professional staff and community volunteers. Field data collection included: sidewalk condition, curb appeal, façade maintenance, historic value, building scale, and occupancy. Our team indexed the Catalytic Potential of each property using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and Garafa GIS Pro software and developed map graphics that told the story of existing neighborhood conditions and revealed potential locations for improvement projects.
