Huntington Station Redevelopment Plan
Guided by a community engagement process engaging over 700 residents and community stakeholders, our team provided transit-oriented development planning and urban design services for a 20-block district with a focus on the Huntington Station rail station serving 10,000 daily riders. Central to the plan is a coordinated effort between the Town of Huntington and the Master Developer to redevelop 15 acres of municipal land while incentivizing numerous private developments. Early phases include 290,000 SF of development including two mixed use buildings, apartments, restaurants, a boutique hotel, medical offices, a fitness/ wellness center, artists residences and live/ work units. So far, the plan has resulted in an approved environmental impact development plan and two mixed-use developments with 90 apartments and 20,000 SF of retail and the transfer and sale of a number of public sites to realize the project goals. Key services include a master plan, transportation, streetscape, civic space, parking management and economic development strategies.
