Kane Amphitheatre

KARE (Kane Area Revitalization Enterprise) had been contemplating a downtown amphitheater-type venue for several years. When the organization attained a piece of property in the middle of the Main Street district through a tax sale, they were ready to take the next step. KARE contacted Derck & Edson for design services.

Says Mike Merry, KARE Vice President: “I sent some rough sketches of what we were talking about and they said they’d get back to me soon. It wasn’t very long and they let me know they were going to be in the area soon and wanted to set a time and meet with us again and go over our new ideas. They took some pictures and said they’d have some new drawings to us soon.

Well, when we got these “pictures” back, we were elated! We were so excited, we had an emergency meeting and decided to print them out on 4 foot by 8 foot ‘billboards’ that we could display at the sight to get some buzz going around town. … We hope to have this job completed in the next year or two.”
