Northampton Community College
Northampton Community College planned to move their Monroe County campus from its existing, undersized facility to a completely new campus to be constructed on 80 acres of land near Tannersville. Derck & Edson was a key part of the team who developed a master plan for the new campus.
The first phase of implementation for the project includes a new classroom building, new student services building, and a new athletics/student center featuring food service, fitness and athletics, and student organization offices.
Planning work to date has included site layout for car, bus, and truck circulation, parking for 1,500 cars, and the creation of a green campus core to reinforce the feel of a campus community to the predominately commuter-based student body. Site design has taken into consideration existing mature forest areas, views toward the Delaware Water Gap, and surrounding land uses.
