State College Borough MLK Plaza
As part of renovations to the Fraser Street Parking Garage, a new approach was desired for the recently renamed plaza at the garage entrance, the MLK Plaza. Derck & Edson worked with the borough through design development for this refreshed plaza space. Our process included extensive and Intentional public engagement. Our initial work resulted in four concepts for further study. Additional discussion and refinement netted the final design concept which was presented to borough council for approval. Construction documents and bidding followed, culminating in construction scheduled for August through December of 2016.
