Linden Hall School Master Plan
Linden Hall is the oldest private girls’ school in the country and was established by the Lititz Moravian Church. The 30+ acre site is situated in the heart of the historic district in downtown Lititz.
At the beginning of the planning process, the school property included several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The large site encompassed an existing chapel, gymnasium, classroom, and administration buildings, a dormitory, cafeteria, horse stables, pasture, and riding ring, a softball field, tennis courts, and two soccer fields.
Derck & Edson worked to develop a 20-year master plan for the campus. The plan included accommodations for a new gymnasium building, additions and renovations to the existing gymnasium to convert it to a performing arts building, additional parking, and a new pedestrian and vehicular circulation system.
Large, mature trees and historic structures create challenges in the site design and grading but add to the character and uniqueness of this growing campus.
