Linden Hall School Stengel Hall
Located in a downtown setting, Linden Hall’s options were limited when it came to meeting needs for expansion. This innovative infill design project connects two existing campus buildings – Stengel Hall and the Steinman Performing Arts Building. The new construction creates a new reception area and lobby for the school, improving accessibility inside and outside the structures.
The infill development project alone is a model for smart growth, as it blends this new development into the existing fabric of the campus and the borough. It makes use of existing infrastructure as well. However, the accompanying 1,600 square foot rooftop is where this project really stands out as Linden Hall took advantage of the perfect opportunity to construct a green roof with the ecological function of capturing and filtering excess storm water.
